Little Update

We have not been taking nearly as many photos of Sophia compared to what we did at first, but here are a few photos from the last week. Hopefully she won't get too neglected when baby #2 comes along!

Sophia was out on the deck and she started making really funny faces in the window. She was licking the outside of the window, which is probably not the best idea, but we missed that with the camera. These are the best we could do. She cracks us up everyday! Glad she has a sense of humour. :)

Immunisations

Sophia had her next round of immunisations (called jabs here, instead of shots) on Friday. The last time she barely even noticed what was happening. This time, however, was a different story. She was crying even before anything came close to touching her. She cried a lot more when she got stuck with the needles. She was crying and crying and I told her she was all done and she started clapping for herself through the tears. She got some special plasters (band-aids) on her legs with little characters on them. When I took her pants off her later, she saw the plasters and started crying all over again. Daddy had to rip the plasters off before bed and that hurt too. Poor girl! She slept in until about 9:30 this morning after that ordeal. We were all thankful for that. :)

10 Year Anniversary

Today is our 10th wedding anniversary! Woah, that sounds like a long time. And that means I'm 10 years older too. Ouch. We feel like major slackers because we didn't get each other anything. We were so focused on Travis getting back into the country, that the anniversary gifts went by the wayside. Being able to spend the whole day together was a much better gift than anything else. I know it's a bit cheesy, but it's true. What can I say, I still love my man! :) Happy anniversary Travis. I am so glad I said "I do" 10 years ago. Here are some photos of what we did today, although I feel like we should have done something more momentous for big number 10.

Travis was pulling Sophia around the house in the laundry basket picking up all her stuffed animals for a ride. They then dropped them off after they were done for their ride and Sophia waved goodbye to all of them.

Travis is Home!!!

I think a lot of people know this already, but Travis finally made it back to Auckland yesterday. He was supposed to arrive at 12:50 pm and I didn't even check the internet to see if his flight was going to be on time. When I got to the airport...or wait...let's back up. Earlier that day I slipped while getting into the shower. I didn't fall, but I pulled something in my groin region. So, walking around the airport was not very easy for me. I was leaning very hard on Sophia's stroller and walking so slow. Must have been quite a sight. :)

I walked around and discovered that Travis' plane was still in Sydney and they were not sure when it would be leaving. I went home and checked what was going on, and there was some problem with the plane and the flight was cancelled. Travis was rebooked on a flight that was not arriving until 8:35 pm. I found out later that Travis and everyone else sat on the plane in Sydney for 4 hours before they let them out and rebooked their flights. Yuck!!! But, he made it, and we are very happy he's home. Sophia and I woke him up this morning and she was kind of surprised to see him in bed, I think.

We have been hanging out all day and Sophia even took her first steps with some prompting from Daddy! Go girl, it's about time. She's only 17 1/2 months old!

Finally an Update

I have been such a blog slacker again! Part of it is because I lost my camera and have had no photos to post. The other reason is that I feel like I don't do much that is very exciting or noteworthy, so I wasn't sure what to post about. My friend Katie has been here for a few weeks now and she is doing a course on how to teach English to adults. It has been great having her here, especially since Travis has been away in the states for almost 2 weeks now. He will be back in 1 week! Yay! Here are some of the things Katie, Sophia, and I have done since she's been here.

in the background. There were kids and toys over there and

that was much more interesting than Katie and me.

Sophia likes walking holding on to a hand, but we are

thankful she hasn't started walking on her own yet.

We're hoping she'll wait at least one more week

when Travis gets home!
