Random Pics

Just some random pics from the last couple of weeks.
Sophia cleaning all the yoghurt out of the container.
Sophia is going to regret this some day, but she had a snot bubble (she's a little sick at the moment) and she was licking it. It is pretty disgusting, but I couldn't stop laughing.
Zoe after enjoying some pasta.
Zoe in the Jolly Jumper with her hippo.
Zoe trying to jump on the trampoline we had from the toy library.
Trying to finger paint. Now I know why it's not recommended for kids this age. :)
Sophia making paintings for Alisa, Catherine, Sandy, and Melissa. When I asked her who she wanted to make paintings for, that's who she decided. None for Daddy or the rest of the family this time, sorry!
"Please let me come outside and play with you!"
Reading to Bunny.
Travis took some great photos of Sophia in the bath one night. Here's just one of them. :)
Sophia spending some alone time in her room with a pair of undies on her head.

11th Anniversary

Wow, I've been a bit of a blog slacker lately. Anyway, here are the only pics we took of our 11th anniversary.
Travis in the car on our way to the restaurant.
Me in the car.
We were sitting outside and they had heaters going, but also had blankets on the chairs in case we were cold. I was happy to put it to use.
Here's a pic of the restaurant we went to. We don't get out much together so we were happy to finally try one of the many restaurants near our house. It was so nice to go out and talk and not have to worry about cutting anyone's food, wiping anyone's face, or getting anyone to bed. Thanks Melissa for babysitting!

Recent Events

Here are just a few pics of life as of late in the Scott household. It's been a busy, but good week.
Sophia and Ruby playing in the water on the back deck after making blueberry muffins.
Sophia was dunking her face in the water to get her hair wet. :) Nice.
Oh Zoe, you're so cute!
Zoe chewing on Sophia's gum boot. I think right now, shoes are her favourite things to chew on.
We got this mini trampoline from the toy library this past week. It's been super! Sophia loves to jump on it, and Zoe enjoys chewing on it. I'm so glad it's a multi-purpose toy. :)
We do have toys, as you've seen, but the pantry is still one of the favourite places to play!
Happy Mother's Day to me from Travis and the girls! I was all crabby saying, "Who is knocking at the door this early on a Saturday morning?" But after having it being a person delivering my flowers, I was ok with it. :) Wouldn't that be a nice job? You would get to make a lot of people happy.
Sophia and Jill at a children's book shop to see one of our favourite NZ authors. Jill is the one who bought his books for Sophia. Thanks Jill!
Craig Smith singing "The Wonky Donkey." He writes songs and has published two books so far. He was so funny! I love when they throw some adult humour in there so we don't get bored when reading books, or listening to songs over and over and over again.

And here is a little taste of The Wonky Donkey...

A Day in the Life...(2)

...continued from last time...
Sophia climbing up the stairs to our neighbors' house.
"Hello!"
Sorry Francoise and Jill, I didn't get very good photos of you. :) Having fun at our neighbors' house. Zoe is now getting into EVERYTHING!
Almost always on the move. :)
Waving goodbye after our visit.
Dinner time in the "land of the long white cloud." The view from our back deck.
Dinner.
Sophia's been having a hard time sitting still for dinner now that she's not strapped into her high chair.
Yay, Daddy's home and helping with dinner!
Story time with Daddy.
I went off to knitting group. Such fun! Lots of interesting people from all over the world, and always great food.
I came home to find Travis watching TV (something we do a bit too much of these days, we're just so tired!).
Aaaaahhhhh.

A Day in the Life...(1)

...of the Scott girls. We have a friend who has done a blog post with one photo every hour throughout the day. I decided to do something similar, just to show what a typical day is like at our house. Beware, this post has gotten very long! This was Thursday, the 21st of April. I forgot to get any of us in bed in the morning, just waking up, but that's not very exciting (although it would have been quite funny)! This day, Travis and I were in bed and at about 7:15 I laid there and said, "Well, they're both awake." I have to say, 7:15 is a very reasonable time to start the day, but I was tired. I got up and got Zoe, and Travis got Sophia.
Playing together before breakfast. Apparently I didn't get Zoe dressed when I got her up. Sophia was making "tea" for them to drink.
In the kitchen making pancake batter. I am still in my PJs too.
I didn't get a good photo of this, but Sophia was fixing Zoe's hair. It was so funny!
Blueberry pancakes for breakfast.
Dishes that didn't fit into the dishwasher from our dinner with guests the night before.
Yum! Looking beautiful, I know! :)
Zoe wasn't too keen on the blueberries.
Sophia has always loved blueberry pancakes though.
Zoe seemed tired, but was not happy when I put her to bed for her morning sleep.
Packing our food for our outing.
Finally showered, but still not dressed.
Sophia reading books while I got ready and Zoe was asleep.
In the pram by our car. It's just easier to put everyone and everything in here on our way down the driveway.
Up the driveway. Yes, it really is a tight fit (and there are marks on our car to prove it). You can see by the tree that it's Autumn here. Heading to the zoo.
Up one of the beautiful tree lined streets by our house.
We met Ruby and Rasa (Ruby's new nanny) at the zoo. We also saw Jacky! She used to be Ruby's nanny, but was at the zoo all dressed up handing things out to the kids this day. Ruby wasn't so sure about Jacky in this outfit.
I was trying to get a pic of the girls standing under this elephant, but they just kept running around, so this is the best I could do.
Another pic that I was trying to get, but is blurry because they just kept on walking. It is school holidays right now so the zoo was very busy. It was good they held hands part of the time as it was hard to keep track of them.
On our way back home. We are close to the Skytower which is in the center of the city.
Back home and enjoying the beautiful Autumn colours.
Does anyone else leave their lounge like this on their way out the door?
Zoe eating lunch (homemade pizza from the night before).
Sophia and her baby getting ready to eat lunch.
Unloading the dishwasher after lunch (I am sooooo thankful for that dishwasher!).
Zoe in her cot for afternoon sleep time. Until she and Sophia are old enough to share a room, she sleeps in our front storage room that's off of our bedroom. It's a little weird, but it works just fine. She doesn't seem to mind.
Sophia in her cot too. Unfortunately, she hardly ever actually takes a nap anymore, but she still spends about 1 1/2 hours in her cot in the afternoon. Lately she's been having "book parties."
I am having a rest on the couch, and yes, very happy about it. :)
After rest time Sophia is on the back deck in her ballet costume (from the toy library) talking to our neighbor Jill.
On our way to visit Jill and Francoise after Zoe woke up from her nap.
I'll finish this post later. It is so long! Congrats if you made it to the end. :)
