A Day in the Life...

...of a mother. I'm sure this has happened many times before to many other parents, and much worse than it could have happened to me, but it was still gross. Sophia and I were both napping this afternoon, and I woke up to her crying so went into her room and it smelled like poo. I checked and sure enough, her nappy was off and there was poo in her bed. There was also some poo on her hands and face and dress. Not too bad though. She has not had a dirty nappy in quite a while since we've been using her little potty, so maybe she just thought, "This is gross, I don't want to lay here with poo on my bum," and took it off. I'm just glad she didn't smear it all over the place. Note to self: next time, duct tape the nappy on. :)

Motherhood...

I was never sure if I wanted to be a mother.  I didn't know if it would be my thing, and it's a lifelong commitment that I wasn't sure I was willing to make.  Now that I am a mother, I am already thankful for the experience.  Sophia has been a pretty good, happy, and easy child - a good introduction to motherhood.  It is a really difficult job, though, especially at the beginning.  There is always something to be done, and never quite enough sleep.  Here are some photos of what we have been doing...

The laundry is never done!

On the changing table nibbling on her fingers.

Drying off after bath time.

Nap time.

Outside enjoying some fresh air with Dad.

Enjoying a walk looking at the sunset with Mom.
