The Edge

I was gone all week on a Junior High conference at Covenant College (Lookout Mountain, GA) called The Edge. The pictures are from our Thrift Store Formal night. How fun is that? I forgot how much I love hanging out with junior highers! They are so funny! We had a great time with them during the week. I got to spend a lot of time with the girls who are going into seventh grade in the fall and a big part of me wishes I could be here to be their leader. They are a riot! So today, I got caught up on some sleep and laundry. It was really strange pulling into the church, and realizing that I was not going to be driving to my apartment. It was really sad when I went to the Kirk mission house and all our stuff was all over, and I had no idea where any of my pajamas were. I have never had the feeling of being "homeless." I still have a roof over my head, and for that I am thankful. We just don't have a place to call our own, and we won't for a while, and that is difficult for me to deal with. I know I will eventually get over it, it's just going to take some getting used to.

Traveling is so different when you know there's home at the end of the day. When we were nomads, a long time ago, living out of suitcases and sleeping on floors of church basements, I kept trying to rearrange our boxes into a more pleasing manner. It didn't work. I think it's divinely ordained -- we want home and we want our pajamas in the same place tomorrow and the next day. It's a mercy we find them most nights!
I get depressed when I read your blog! Where's the happy go-lucky brooke? I'll definitely be praying for you! I miss you a lot! I can't wait to see you in August.
