Memories

Wow, we've been doing a lot of sorting of stuff in our apartment lately. I just found a whole box full of letters and pictures and funny things from friends and kids I've worked with. One thing I love about junior highers is that they are so funny! I found a bunch of letters and funny pictures junior high kids drew for me back in the day. One thing I found a while ago is a survey of 101 questions one of the girls made for Travis before we got married. It includes questions such as "Why do you like Brooke?", "Do you work with heavy machinery?" and "Do you like big fluffy slippers?" Those kids are frozen in my mind as junior high students even though they are now all in college. This picture is just a sample of the many things I found when cleaning in the basement today. So many memories of so many friends, long out of touch. But still, they hold special places in my heart. I miss them now that I think about them again. It makes me wonder what role these types of memories play in my life now. What role will they play in the future? Why do I hold on to these things? I know they cannot be replaced, so for now, they will remain in someone's basement.
