Travelogue 2

So, back where I left off, for anyone who's interested in knowing this much about our travel! We stayed the night in Denver. We asked for a port-a-cot (pack-and-play) when we arrived, and the girl at the desk said she didn't think they had any. So, we asked her to just check before we headed to our room. She walked to the other room and came back with one right away. The same kind of thing happened when asking her about adjoining rooms. Anyway...I went to sleep with the girls in my room at 8:00 pm Denver time. Crystal and Pat were in the adjoining room. By 10:00 Zoe was awake. Wide awake! I fed her, but could not get her back to sleep. After about 2 hours Crystal took Zoe in her room and left Sophia and me to get some sleep. The only way Crystal was able to get Zoe to sleep was to bounce really hard on the end of her bed. :) Crystal and Zoe did get some sleep!

The shuttle to the airport had a schedule in the morning, but of course we didn't check the times. We were getting ready, and realised that we might have time to make it down to the shuttle. Crystal completely dressed Sophia while she was still asleep. Poor girl! We grabbed the kids and flew downstairs. We missed the shuttle by about 30 seconds. :( The next shuttle would be too late for our flight, so we called a taxi. The taxi took a while to arrive so we fed the kids while we waited. We asked the taxi to take us to the baggage claim area because we had some issues with my luggage the night before (it was somewhere at the Denver airport, but we couldn't get it, so we needed to make sure it was getting to GR). We got to the airport and the way we needed to go had a gate that went up and down, letting the vehicles in one at a time. Well, it was so stinking cold that the gate was frozen! The driver was waiting for a few minutes, and said someone would come to fix it, but we didn't have the time to wait, so finally asked him to take us somewhere else and we would sort out the luggage thing. When we got to the airport, we were trying to figure out if Crystal and Pat could take the kids through security without me, because I was going to deal with the luggage. Finally it dawned on me to send Crystal to deal with the luggage and I would go with Pat and the girls through security. Crystal ran all the way there and actually beat us to the gate because it took us a while to get through security with the kids and all of our stuff! We made it!

Don had gotten us on a flight to Cleveland, then to GR. Everything was on time, so we got on the plane and made it to Cleveland. I can't figure out how to move the video up here, so look at the bottom to see what Sophia was doing when we landed in Cleveland. :)

We ended up waiting a bit longer than we thought we were going to have to in Cleveland because our crew was late coming in from Toronto. It actually worked out because we got both kids to take a little nap before getting on the plane. They also made a new friend and Sophia did a photo scavenger hunt with my camera.
We made it to GR with no more problems! It was actually really good since I had Crystal and Pat with me, and Don on the phone helping us out so much. I could not have done this trip without them!

Sophia went right to Grandma when we arrived, and here's Zoe having a cuddle while we were waiting to see if our luggage was going to arrive. It didn't, but we got it on Friday. Thankfully Crystal had stuff for us, and it didn't get sent to Rome again like last time. :)

ha brooke these stories just make me laugh :) I'm glad you got all the way to GR safely, even if it took a little longer than planned :) This weather has been ridiculous! We got over 20 inches in Tulsa! I had four days off work because our city doesn't have big enough snow crews!! I can't wait to see you :)
