A Walk Around the Neighborhood
We were out for a walk the other day, and I took a few photos as we went to show you a little bit of the neighbor - hood. Here are a couple photos of the outside of our house.
I'm not sure what that little landscaped section is supposed to be on the corner (it's about as pretty in person as it is on the photo). :) That is our driveway on the left and we have a parking space back there. It's pretty fun trying to squeeze the people mover in there!
Rupa's, the cafe down the street. It's a nice place to have a coffee or a sandwich or pick up some frozen curries. It's owned by a nice couple who always chat with Sophia when we stop by. The coffee here is excellent, by the way.
A closer shot of seating at Rupa's.
The neighbor - hood grocery store, New World. I will probably head to Pack n Save more often because it's a bit cheaper, but this is nice because it's so close.
A view of the Skytower from one edge of Victoria Park.
The skate/bike park at Victoria Park. Notice the cute little older lady on the left watching the kids. :)
Trees and some cricket players in the background at Victoria Park. This whole area used to be under water, but was "reclaimed" from the sea back in the day.

Hi Brooke - I found your blog thanks to Kent Needler. He told me about you and your family once he heard that my husband Chris and I are moving to Auckland in May 2010. Chris was offered a job at University of Auckland (he's a Philosophy professor). Kent mentioned that y'all are starting a church near the University. If you wouldn't mind, I'd love to email you with some questions! My email is jennytucker(at)gmail(dot)com, and my blog is http://chrisandjennytucker.blogspot.com/
Thanks,
Jenny
